Why I wanted Jindal

Even though I am pleased with thechoice of Rep. Paul Ryan as the running mate for Governor Mitt Romney my personal choice would have been Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Jindal would have brought something extra to the table when compared to Romney and would have helped with one of Romney's biggest weaknesses. Jindal has extensive and diversified experience in dealing with public policy.

Jindal would have improved upon Romney poor record on healthcare as Jindal has been involved in healthcare in not only academics but also helped to run healthcare systems in both the state and federal level. Jindal would provide insight on a health care system should be run and show why Obamacare is bad for America. Also instead of just attacking Obamacare he would also have the capability of dealing a system that would not only replace Obamacare but be better and actually be constitutional. Jindal would have provided expertise on education as he ran the University of Louisiana System. With education and healthcare being two major issues that people care about it would have been a great addition to Romney's insight on economic matters.

Jindal would also not come with the same baggage as Ryan. Even though the Ryan Budget is needed to help reduce the debt and reform entitlements it will be a point that Democrats will surely attack the Romney ticket on. Even though Jindal had problems in his response to Obama in 2009 it would not be a point that Democrats could hammer on as the Republicans could just respond with some of the things that Biden has said in the past.

Jindal is also more ready to assume the presidency than Paul Ryan. As Jindal not only been a state governor but also has been a congressman, cabinet member and director of a state's health care as well as in charge of an university system that is one of the largest in the country which surpasses Ryan's experience of just being a House Member.

In conclusion Paul Ryan was a good choice to Romney's running mate but Jindal would have added more to a Romney ticket.  

Regulation does lead to job loss

On The Daily Caller, I read an article that really got me angry. This is just another example of big government destroying rugged individualism and trying to make people dependent on the government for support. 

The story is pretty much that a 13 year-old kid saved up in order to buy a hot dog stand in order to help support his parents who were both disabled. After finding a perfect location to set up the cart and going to city hall to make sure that he didn't need any permits his cart was shut down after only 10 minutes of operation. Because of stupid regulation this kid and his parents are now homeless.

This is why we need less regulation in this country. Instead of having some kid being stuck in a homeless shelter he could be owning a business and gain real world skills that could help him in the future. But, now he has to live on the government dollar just so that way his parents could survive.  

I'm with Wayne

Recently, I read an editorial by Wayne Allen Root, the 2008 Libertarian VP Nominee, about Obama's time at Columbia University. I agree with it 110% and he made some good points about the character of president Obama. Especially since Obama  is claiming that the American people have the right to Romney's tax returns I say we have the right to see his college records after all what could possible be in them. 

I wouldn't be surprised if Barry got a "F" Constitutional Law or how about the fact that Barack admitted to doing drugs while in college. Could his college records show the existence of Barack being caught with a lot of drugs. Also the records could show if Barack got by on his "skill" or if he got by because affirmative action or the fact that he claimed to be a foreign student.  

We all remember Bill Ayers could it be possible that Barack was a part of communist or socialist political group while in college. We all now the he wants to socialism to the US so it would be no surprise if attend socialist meetings wile in Columbia.

It would also be interesting to see what type of classes he took while at Columbia. For all we know he could of not taken any American history of politics classes and instead focused on classes dealing  European politics.

If Barack can claim that we have the right to see Romney's tax returns we have the right to see the college records of Obama. We have at least have the right to know who is trying to turn this county into a socialist paradise. 

Why August is going to be the turning point

With Mitt Romney coming off his third straight month of out raising President Obama it looks like the floodgates about to be open. As Romney will be able to spend more money once the Republican National Convention is over. As the election will move from the primary season to the general election season which means that Romney will be able to spend money that is in his reserves.  Since the convention is being held later this month, August will be an important month for Romney's campaign. As Romney will not only have to settle on a VP pick but he must be able to unify both the moderate and conservative branches of the Republican party as well reach out to independent voters. The convention will be held in Florida which can be a big boost for Romney as Florida is a necessary state for him to win.

If Romney can continue his dominance in fund-raising and pick a running mate that can boost support this month might be seen as the turning point in this election.  

Or this month can mark the downfall for Romney. As he could pick a disaster of a running mate or  lose his edge in fund-raising.  We have already seen in 2008 what a bad running mate can do to a ticket and since most of Romney's contributions are coming from larger donors this pool could dry as they hit the FEC limits. So this month will be interesting to see how it rolls out as the end of the month could set the tone for the rest of the campaign.

And no real surprises as I sided with the Republicans 90% of the  time but I am surprised that I managed to side with the Democrats 37% of the time.
